So you're interested in modding a mafia game? Here are some helpful hints~!
What you need prepared BEFORE the game starts:Role pm's- edited to suit your game
Number list- list of numbers 1 to x and the ROLES they will be.
Rules- Any special rules you wish to put into your game. E.g; 'No posting in twilight (the time between final lynch and night phase)'
Things that should not be half-assed!Night stories- A good night story gives subtle hints to how your game is set up, particularly in themed mafias.
E.g; In a Pokemon game a mafia killing may be described as "the woman struck her target, stabbing him with her perculiar shaped hair..." which gives a hint to which characters are the mafia.
Deceased/Actives list- Having one of these at the end of every night story is VERY useful for the players. A deceased list is definitely required after a lynch story.
Lynch stories- They make the game more entertaining!
Lynch Vote Updates- doing this regularly, particularly in a lynching frenzie, helps the players out A LOT. Making it clearly structured is very helpful. I recommend having a word document open with the list ready to be edited. Dead players should be taken off the list altogether.
Structure- Using
bold,
underline,
strike,
colours, etc! helps the players understand your posts better. This is particularly important in Night Stories as you're not in a rush to post before the players
