It's the most depressing thing I've ever seen. And it's offensive to cosplayers.

What he did give me is this book of cosplays. It represents cosplayers as lonely, ugly, depressed people (like, the models were TOLD to look depressed) and even calls them 'freaks' 'Plain Janes' and 'Social Outcasts' in the introduction. AND the photography is horrible, as is the lighting and most of the makeup.
It says it represents cosplay for outsiders looking in, but it does NOT represent cosplay AT ALL.
In my experience, cosplay is an incredibly social thing! And most cosplayers are happy (if not too happy...).
Arrrgh, it's so horribly offensive and I had to smile and thank my brother for it as if I really liked it. IT'S OFFENSIVE.
