Most of us in D block/this forum are nerdy and drama is quite rare, and when it does arise it's usually with the same old people (basically, not us).
Our friendships are largely based on common interests and the feeling that we can be as nerdy and lame around each other without being judged (yes, we tease the magikarp out of each other, but we don't judge) which is, quite frankly, an amazing thing to have, especially in highschool. I mean, we can have enormous fun just playing scum for hours.

Do you think our type friendship is stronger because it is based on more than just who's going to what party, and how drunk you got with which people, basically how much time you've spent at social gatherings with certain people etc?

Obviously nothing can be clear cut.
I'm just wondering about how friendship is affected by how it is brought about, and how that then affects drama levels?

Upshot of it is: I pity people who have social lives built around drinking and drama. They thrive off of other people's misfortunes, in some way or another.
Us on the other hand, we thrive off eachothers interests and comeradery.

Yeah. Our lives rock, and no matter how many times I hear "Oh I got so wasted and it was so mean" I'm still going to think that they have sad lives.

Ikr? I love our nerdy get-togethers, and quite frankly D block at lunch is a huge motivator to go to school.
I hate that people think that we MUST hate our lives or that WE are the ones that are missing out on life because we don't go get wasted and screw around like the 'normal' people do. It's so unappealing, I mean I'm not at all anti-alcohol but I seriously couldn't see myself drinking regularly, let alone as my main means of social interaction/entertainment.

And drama is so often created at parties. People do stupid things when drunk, get sick, lose friends and lower their lifespan all in one.

Give me a ds tournament any day.

Exactly. Yeah, I understand that alcohol is there to be enjoyed and should be. But its like an expectation that we ALL have to go out and get drunk on the weekends. Yeah, nah?

yeah i agree with you guys, i don't drink myself but i understand that if it's there to be enjoyed at a party or social event okay, but what is lame is going out every weekend and getting drunk and that the typical image of teens going out every weekend getting drunk is anoying(just saying what connor already said)

yea ok i dont like the jersey shore/mtv/media/corporation etc etc we all get that

social drinking is all good just not to the point where you cant even count to potatoe or start playing "aeroplane mate!"

just because we dont fit in with the stereo-typical view of teenagers doesn't mean we're anything less than them. It just makes us different, because we enjoy different stuff to the "NORMAL" teenagers. What is normal anyway?

Alcohol, drugs, whoredom blah blah blah is so unattractive. Its like you purposely lower your moral ethics to fit in with people. Id rather just be me. And im nerdy.

right now i despising school and i absolutely HATE myself for having to take three freaking art subjects >.>
And i've hardly started my paint board and i have lost all motivation to do it and schol's suffering alot. I dislike art right now.

Motivation is okay for me atm. I actually studied for exams and stuff...

Pretty motivated for cosplay...but not so much for fleece stuff
