i'm curious as to what makes you say that he can't be the cop because there are no vanilla roles, aakrithi.

vanilla roles to me are townies with no abilities, not the cop.

let it just be said, that i'm not defending joseph, i just dont see how aakrithi's reasoning works out?

unless my understanding of vanilla roles is wrong.

oh i just thought that vanilla roles cud be u know gud people..then as there r no vanilla roles, i assume people wud not be gud. it cud be like sidney's game where no one was gud.

or since its me talking r vanilla roles meant to be people with no power roles or smething????

Im sorry, but i seriously doubt theres a proper cop role. not when jonno says we have one role that investigates names, another that investigates roles. It would seem unfair to chuck yet another cop in, specially when the mafia are handicapped in some way.

oh my gosh sterlz stop ninja'ing me. xD Good thinking, I should've realised that, derp. They are technically cops though, aren't they? We'll call them Target Cop, and Role Cop, since they're the two confirmed powers. And Zombie, I guess.
Wait wait wait...

- Target Cop investigated Connor. Target Cop found that Joseph creeped on Connor.
- Role Cop investigated a zombie. Role Cop found that nobody else creeped on zombie.

It's a start!

There's also the matter of the remaining action, which is a little less concrete:
- A third power investigated some dude. Third Power found whether he was dead or not. (Great deduction skills there, third power.)
Obviously there's more to this third role, but we don't know anything from a vague sentence like that.

As for the word 'target' itself, I say don't read too much into it.. to me, all it means is 'Joseph used his night action on Connor'. We have too little to figure out the specifics.

In regards to vanilla roles, Rithi: I always think of it as a person without abilities. Vanilla people may be 'good' (pro-town), but not all pro-town will be vanilla, you know? Just making sure everyone's on the same page.

Okay, this whole 'previous night actions' debacle:

When Jonno says "this will not count the night action itself for the instance", he means Target Cop and Role Cop are not written as targeters in the night story.
This is to be expected, because if he'd written Connor was targeted by Joseph and 'Bob', and then the next day that I was targeted by Paul and 'Bob'... it would be awfully easy to figure out that Bob was the Target Cop. Either that, or more confusing. I don't know.
Anyway, if I'm reading this right, Day Two will not reveal any new information about Night Zero. It doesn't change my recommendation to wait til night, but this is all stuff that we need to have straight anyhow.

i just read that again...
i think it means that target/role cops actual investigation won't be included in their investigation till later nights.
But i don't know if that excludes cops finding other cops in the same night.

like a and b cops target c.

does that mean in the night story a finds b targetted c and b finds a targetted c?

in essence, yes. also yes to what jazzy said, about how it'd be too easy to find them otherwise. the signup thread does have the explanation with examples and all. the examples i had clarify well if you bother looking at them.

also, vanilla is a plain icecream flavour. so vanilla is a plain player, who has nothing special about them. (this means mafia are non-vanilla, as they have the power to kill and talk to other mafia, etc.)
