Let's see.. looks like we have 3 mafia, possibly 4, if mr. "I'm listening" is different from mr. "ARISTOPHANES". That's all I got. And uhh, that the mafia may be exceptionally weak to candycorn. (Problem sleuth reference, those of you who don't know where I got that from. xD)

atm first day i'm mostly wondering to get the "game has started, hi guys" out of their system. also waiting for everyone to report in.

I remember mod saying something along the lines of not promising the game to be balanced.. does this mean it's seriously 4 mafia?? Actually even 3 would be pretty hardcore. =\

google it. with the knowledge that the people who started this forum were taking classics at the time. and decided it was funnier to substitute than to censor peoples posts.

theres a few others i'll let you lot discover on your own.

oh and one more thing: once you're in an actual game thread, there is a very strict 'no editing' rule for any and all posts, except for/by the mod/admins. this is so that you cannot "take things back" after certain people have seen them but others haven't, etc.

however, double/triple/etc. posts are allowed for when you need to say something more.

these rules are in direct inverse to normal forum rules(inc. elsewhere on this forum), where you're encouraged to edit posts instead of double/etc. posting.

Right okay. I was wondering about that haha but went with the "NO DOUBLE POSTING" that was drilled into me back in my early forum-going days.

Can I get a link to the game rules? Is there a strict no talking about the game outside of the thread rule or anything like that? Sorry to be that guy but I just want to be sure. And is this the right formatting for a lynch vote? (Please count it)

if you go up one level in the sub-forum directory you'll find it there the more general rule set. there are generally specific individualized rules for each mod but i think for the most part i stick to those.

also

you'll generally need to add in the bold whether you're lynching or unlynching them, as certain games will allow an individual to vote for more than one individual at a time. also it's easier for the mod when he's going through counting votes in a busy day. i'll accept this one but in future have it as lynch x or unlynch x to show whether you're giving or withdrawing your vote respectively

Hoooold on, I just realised, if there -are- 4 mafia then there's no way we're gonna be able to get a majority against them (unless one of them decides to teamkill lol).
So...is fweaks that evil? We could be having to rely on vigilantes or something.

But gees ScreamingHawk, a little eager to lynch someone it seems! Nothing's even happened yet! Yeah, I think it's still a tad early for random accusations right now. Don't wanna be hitting civ, esp when there could very well be 4 mafia =S well I guess on the other hand, if there ARE 4, greater chance to hit them?? But I'd rather not take that chance now til we find out what happens on day 1.

But well, with the mafia numbers looking so high I'm thinking we'd better get onto the lynching asap. But that doesn't mean we should lynch the first guy who sounds a little bit excited necessarily. caseofinsanity is a sure suspect..but then again so is the guy who's keen to lynch one guy in particular straight up. =\

Let me just say that like.. conversation-wise, it's most likely the first speaker is also the last. I was only throwing it out there when I said there could be 4 mafia. Especially since as Geoff pointed out, it means we can't get an all-townie majority on the first day. Soo, number of mafia is most likely 3.

I'm willing to bandwagon, but if we're killing caseofinsanity or screaminghawk, I just feel so bad that they wouldn't even have a chance to play the game properly.

It's just some pressure guys Chillax. Still a long way off a lynch.

I'd say with 8 players (1 night kill 7 people | 1 mislynch 6 people | 1 night kill 5 people) that there would only be about 2-3 mafia. Unless there are some really decent town power roles out there to balance a higher number of mafia...
